Okay, the "IT" factor of why many of us keep going is not just about the physical results; the muscle building and weight-loss. Triumph makes all of us happy- despite the sore muscles and insane movements many of us never thought we would perform nor be capable of. We, at Triumph, have exceeded our own expectations and keep rising past our initial expectations. So- why do we keep going? Well... science proves- exercise makes you happy- referred to as "The Happiness Effect." Exercise actually creates chemical responses within our brain- creating long term health benefits.
Within our brain, we have particular regions in our brain that control production of hormones. These hormones can be linked to mood, motivation and suppress our immune and digestive systems. As many Americans know, stress also causes elevated blood pressure which can lead to many known health problems.
So, what can we do to help ourselves be happier? Triumph of course! (Well, okay, exercise but Triumph is a GREAT place to do it!). I protect my gym time. I treat is as if it is sacred, because for me as a full-time working mother with a fantastic family of four- I need this time. It is for me (which we can all admit is for the rest of my family too!). So when you feel overwhelmed- the best medicine may just be to hit the gym! As you heart rate increases, your brain chemistry reacts making you feel better physically and mentally! How do all of these brain reactions benefit you?! Plenty! Think- not only feeling happy, but lowering stress levels, building antibodies for protection, and exercise working as an anti-depressant. Exercise is not just beneficial to your physical health but your mental health too.
We all keep coming back for more and if we really get down and dirty about "The Happiness Effect" is that it spreads. Happiness is contagious; when we are happy those that surround us feel and absorb our vibes. Not only do we get fit while making ourselves happy- we then it to spread it around! There is no better way to Triumph!
